Insanity Diet Plan
In order to see results similar to those advertised you are advised to follow the Beach Body diet plan as closely as you can. If you want to follow your own diet plan then you should try and stick to the same ratio of protein : carbs : fat (40% protein, 40% carbs and 20% fats). This ratio both fuels the activity you will be doing and gets the results you are after.
Why do you need 40% protein?
This is required in order to fuel your muscles and repair the micro tears that will inevitable form.
Why do you need 40% carbs?
The carbohydrates will keep your energy levels high enough to both complete the workouts and get through the day.
Why do you need 20% fat?
The fat will provide you with additional energy and is required by your body for various functions. The diet plan includes healthy fats so if you associate fats with chocolate you will have to reconsider your food choices J.
How do you track your diet if you decide not to follow the Insanity meal plan?
Some people need more flexibility than a diet plan can provide yet they still want to stick to Insanity’s guidelines. I found that My Fitness Pal can be of great help for these people. My Fitness Pal is a free app / website that allows you to track your food, interact with other people with similar goals and get the support that you need.
